sore pleco

My pleco has sores on his belly and sides. He has steadily outgrown his usual hiding spot in a scull. I literally had to break the decoration apart to get him out. Will he heal or should i medicate the water to help him out?

If the injury isn't major, he should probably heal by himself. However, you might want to add a bit of salt to help him heal faster. I have found that works well, even with freshwater tanks.

Catfish and algae eaters have plates instead of scales so be cautious with the salt.
