Any idea what kindof sponge this is? It came on one piece of my LR and had been spreading like crazy.

Definitely a sponge. We will never know what type as there are thousands upon thousand of types of sponges. I have several in my tank. They are good as they filter out excessive nutrients that cause algea in the tank.

+1 I have 4 different sponges that I've seen so far in my tank. One of which is pretty trippy looking. Almost has a carbon fiber three dimensional look to it lol

OK cool. I also have a small green bushy one. Been there a while doesn't seem to grow. It's neat looking very very hard to get a pic of.
