Ok. I have a 29 gallon tank. I want to plant it. I'm obsessed with the idea of dirting it but its all so overwhelming to me. I'm thinking of using miracle grow organic soil with gravel on top. Do I need to add clay? And would clay cat littler work (without additives) if it is necessary?

How many times should the dirt be wet an then dry before its ready to be put in the tank? How many inches of dirt, gravel? Is this method even safe for fish? Air pockets? How would you clean the substrate? Should it be vacuumed? So many questions. Can anyone who has experience with this help me out?
