We recently added an algae eater fish to our aquarium, and I think he brought in a stowaway because a few days later I noticed we have a baby snail, hardly bigger than a grain of rice I'd say. I've been reading up a lot that they overpopulate quickly. If it ends up multiplying will that affect the well being of my other fish? If it poses no threat we'd like to keep it but from my research I can't decide if it'll be a blessing or a curse.

Well you could keep it until it overpopulates. Then you could get 1 or 2 assassin snails they will kill the other snails. Then in 2 months there will be no snails whatsoever except the assassin snail.

No but if you have a Bottom feeder than that fish will lose out on most of the food.
