We are cycling our tank. It's been running for 4 weeks and has had fish in it for 3 1/2 weeks. (Current residents: 3 harlequin rasbora, 1 oto cat, 1 fancy guppy) This week it has developed growth of a stringy green algae pictured below.
Yesterday ammonia was at 0.25PPM, nitrate and nitrite were undetectable. I did a 50% water change. The algae is just as noticeable (if not more-so) today.
What, if anything, should we do about the algae? Can we/should we simply spool it up on something and fish it out of the tank?
