I've been reading that a sump system for a turtle tank is more work than a help. Point being that turtles produce a lot of heavy waste that sits at the bottom. I already have an fx5 and possibly acquiring a second this week for a good deal (175). My tank also is not drilled so that is an issue as well. I just prefer the sleekness of a sump without all the visible hosing. Any tips on how to hide canister hosing?

I'm using ½" rigid cpvc pipe, fabricated as a DIY spray bar, low in the tank to create current for darters & minnows. When (eventually) painted flat black and situated in rock substrate I expect it to 'vanish'. We're using a black background on the tank and the hoses are routed through the space between the stand and the wall to the Fluvial 404 in the stand. Will post pic's this weekend (when I finish the project.)
