Hi,

I have a 36 gallon planted tank with tetras and ghost shrimp I currently have a fluval 204 that's is 170 gph canister filter and I want to upgrade to a Sunsun canister filter that has 245 gph or something like that is that to much for a 36 gallon and will it suck up the shrimp or fish? Thanks!

Should be fine, just add some sponge on intake so it cant suck up the shrimp (though I dont think it will). I am all about over filtering my tanks because I like knowing they are clean and have plenty of oxygen.

It'll be more like a downgrade lol sunsun is a pretty good canister filter if you are on low budget
