How do I tell the difference between Synodontis petricola and Synodontis lucipinnis? I purchased 2 small specimens at $28 each. They were labeled as petricola but after some research I have my doubts.

My resources show that synodontis Petricola has a straight line of spots along the body. S Lucipinnis has staggered spots

$28 for petricola seems expensive especially for small specimens, so I'm thinking they might be lucipinnis. Also what was said above is correct.

I got my syno for $1.99 the lady didn't know what it was and wrote the wrong number down.
