Hey guys,

I've always wanted a Jack Dempsey and I was wondering if it is at all possible to keep one of these guys in a 30 gallon.

If not it's alright. I just got my tax returns back and I'm looking to upgrade anyways.

Thanks in advance!

A 40 seems pretty nice. I'm definitely only doing 1 Jack.

Any tips or advice?

Ps- thanks for the quick responses!

You could do a 30 bit what you can do and what you should do is totally different plus the more water volume you have the easier maintennace will be as with more water nitrates won't shoot up as fast

What you can do and what you should do are two different things meaning you can do a 30 but ideally you should do at least a 40 breeder or a 55

Oh, alright. It's been a long week haha.

Thanks all, I'm upgrading to the 40 tonight and keeping the tank water to fill it. Maybe some pics to come.

If your upgrading to a 40, try and get the 40b, it's got a different foot print Han a regular 40. It's longer, and that's what you need with cichlids.
