When I first got my tank, the first store I dealt with sold me the Red Sea Marine Test Kit. All my levels except my nitrites and nitrates were perfect. The second store I ended up at uses Tetra kits and when they would test my water the PH was at 7.8 and the nitrate was only slightly high, everything else was okay. So how to know which is right? I did some research and found that people either love or hate Red Sea...about half say their tests are inaccurate. My only option was to get a third opinion. I purchased Instant Ocean Master test kit and low and behold everything was perfect. What types to do all use?

I use API. I use it because it's easy to use and fairly consistant. User error is the main cause of different readings. As long as you use the same test and run it fairly consistant you should not have any problems.
