Tiger Barbs... Good or Bad?

So I really want these, because they are sooooo pretty, but i heard they might be nippy, and i have an angelfish. but if i get like 12, will the nip at other fish?

They will nip the angel. a red tailed black shark would be fine though - very pretty

As much as I love Tiger Barbs and will defend them were most people knock them, they can't be housed with Angel fish. The very slow movement of the Angel and it's long flowing fins are just too much for the Tigers to resist. Even in a large school in a very large tank I still think they would go after it. There's lots of other awesome looking Barbs that should work swimmingly with Angels however!

Pentazona barbs are a good alternative -- they're pretty peaceful in community situations.

yea... ill stick with tetras for schools
