I just added a Marineland Maxi-Jet Pro 600 powerhead configured as a circulation pump to my 37 gallon recently re-started reef last night. Why did I do this? Well, because circulation pumps seem to be the in thing and I didn't have one. This seemed like a reasonably priced and sized pump compared to many of the other brands available. I already had 3 AquaClear 402 powerheads running in the tank, one of which is fitted with the Hydor FLO deflector mounted on it. My water return pump is a Mag Drive MD5 (500).
So thats:
3 x Aqua Clear 402 = 3 x 270gph = 810gph
(probably reduced due to age and the FLO deflector)
Maxi-Jet Pro 600 = 750gph
Mag Drive 500 = 425gph (estimated at 3' head)

Have I pulled a Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor on this? Photo of the layout are below:
