Trailing or vining plant?

Is there any sort of ivy or other kind of freshwater plant that either naturally or can be trained to vine or hang down? I built a place in my new background about halfway up where it would look really spiffy to have a viny thing spilling over. If not, is it possible to affix a moss type of plant to a vertical faux stone wall? Thanks for any suggestions!

I've seen people use java moss to create an effect like that and it looks really good. They spread the moss thinly on the surface face of whatever they were working with and anchored it with fishing line or whatever and then just wait for it to grow.

Golden pothos will grow very well hydroponically, but not submerged. Most aquatic plants grow upward, toward the light. Even the marginal types that can be maintained with enough light and CO2 aren't likely to hang down in the water, mosses are the best bet for that.
