Treating for BBA outside of tank

I'm having my first algae issue, conveniently a week before I move and tear down the tank anyway.

So could I just pull all the plants and treat them in a 5 gallon bucket for the week? What would they need to survive the week ... Aeration, light, circulation ... ?

I haven't chosen a method yet, still considering which is lowest risk to the plants ..
