Unsure about filter.

I was given a filter recently and I'm unsure about what I need for it. I'm unable to get in contact with the person who gave it to me. All I know is that it's a Fluval.

That doesn't look like a fluval to me? Do you know if it is an internal or external filter? It's very bizarre looking

Internal. I set it up quickly in my 55 I'm about to move to make sure it runs. From top to bottom it sticks about 5-6 inches above the bottom. The lip doesn't go over the top of the tank so I have it sitting on the inside lip, but pretty steady and wont fall unless something really shakes it.
