Using SW kit on FW?

I posted this in FW General, thought I may try here too.

Went out to buy a test kit today for my FW tank. Didn't notice till home that I'd bought the API Saltwater Master kit by mistake. The only difference I can tell in the kits is that the SW kit doesn't have the low pH test the FW does.

Can I use the SW kit to test FW? Research online told me both no, and yes if I can acquire the FW kit color card.

look up the individual tests online...

High ph, copper, phosphate, ammonia, nitrite, & nitrate are both FW & SW but use separate cards.

normal PH, & GH is freshwater only

KH is either, no card needed

Calcium is SW only, the color doesn't develop properly in FW
