UV Sterilizer and Discus

I have heard that using a UV with discus is great because of the improvement of water quality.

I have heard that it is bad because it lowers the immunity of the discus over time.

What are your thoughts?

You should change out water to improve water quality. Having UV may be nice for bacteria and viruses but it does nothing to remove nitrates. Changing out water does both.
