Great video on the rift lakes and how they became. Also some information about how every different cichlid that we talk about on these forums became the way they are.





Here's another video on lake malawi, there's two more parts to it if you like it. This shows how they live, and what we're trying to replicate in our aquariums :)

 
That's really interesting. If it weren't for the ice age, there wouldn't be very many cichlids today.
 
If it wasn't for the ice age, the continents would look very different, many lakes and gorges, including places like Scotland with its locks and America with some huge freshwater lakes. It's amazing how ice transformed the entire world to what we know today, and how it's still changing our environment. If it wasn't for ice there might not be life at all.
 
Very true on the ice age. Just about everything works in perfect harmony in this world, except us as humans. We're destroying it, and it's hard to watch. I don't understand people who litter and intentionally don't care about our world and all it's beauty.
