Hi all, just a quick post really about what I should be testing ( apart from ammonia nitrite nitrate) in my tank to promote healthy plants and what testing kits I should be using? I use the API for the basics, but is there anything else you guys would recommend? any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

If you're dosing serious fertilizers, a phosphate test kit would be beneficial. If you're just running a low-light tank with a basic comprehensive fert like Flourish, don't do any more testing, but watch the plants for any signs that they're unhealthy.

Agree on the PO4 test, if you are dosing PO4. If not, it isn't required (even some who dose it don't test it...).

You can also get a Chelated Fe test kit, but they are pricey, and also not a requirement. Rather than test for it, you can just look for Fe deficiencies.
