So I am trying to identify this polyp looking thing in the following picture. It has a purple base with white arms/tentacles with white tips. Any clue? I tried to get the best picture I could it's kind hard spot to capture and small. Please help!!! :)

The purple stuff is very good. It's a sign that Your tank is very healthy. It will not harm your tank.

It looks like a bubble anemone, I have some in my tank and they double in size at night, most stay about an inch big but there are some bad kinds that grow really big and can eat your fish, but these bad ones are rare in an aquarium. You can just leave it in your tank, mine have caused no problems.

+1. it's harmless. i know if you google them, there will be horror stories, but this isn't the species that eats fish. this will stay small and not bother anything.
