What happens if i get stung by lionfish

I just got stung by my new dwarf lionfish what do i do???

soak it in as hot of water as you can and hope for the best its going to hurt really bad. most Emergency rooms dont have an antidote for lionfish. soaking in hot water will keep the swelling down and keep it from spreading.

Maybe an antihistamine or some other allergy med, too...

I know this doesn't help now and I hope it gets better soon but I'm also looking into a lionfish would rubber gloves make much difference or would the spines just go through?

if you have the gardening gloves made to be thorn proof just make sure they are aquarium safe

It hurts but I've never heard of any serious consequences unless you just grabbed a handful of spines. "Light" stings are very painful, and I've been stung a couple times, but never had any issues other than pain. Make sure you treat to keep off infection.
