Bought a Marino moss ball about 10 days ago and I have been acclimating it to brackish and when I was about to put it in the tank and I saw it was floating with a worm sticking out. I don't think it's anything dangerous but can someone confirm this.

appears to be a typical nematode or round worm, although not 100% sure as it could also be a annelid or segmented worm. Most aquatic species are harmless detrivores, however a few species are know to cause diseases. Given its apparent size I'd guess that it is one of the harmless varieties.

It was bigger I can see part of it broke off and is probably still on the moss ball. Thank you for responding. I think I'll wait another few days and see if anymore come out of it.

So incase anyone is wondering I finished my acclimating and I also acclimated the cup with the "worm" and it died. I hoping it's because of the salt and not the lack of food.
