It was sold to me as a tracyphyllia a month or so ago but I now have my doubts. Iive aquarias divers den had a meat coral that looked just like it. I also read a post today by Mr x saying they do not have long sweepers but this one does . So is it a brain or a meat coral thanks .

Yours looks like mine to me which is a Trachyphyllia geoffroyi.

I haven't seen sweepers on mine but live aquaria does say it can sting its neighbors.

I think yours looks like the green in live aquaria photo.

I'm far from an expert but from comparing photos, and having one, I think it looks like the trachy and not the meat/doughnut coral (Acanthophyllia deshayesiana).

This is what I assume you're talking about when you said meat coral, live aquaria lists meat coral as a common name.

Anyway, comparing pictures I say trachy.

Edit:

Here is mine

Mine has sweeper tentacles of an evening, they're thin as silk and wave about in the water column, I don't know if they sting but the next door torch coral has just died.

Live aquaria lists them as semi-aggressive and does say they'll sting.

I'd expect a torch to be more aggressive though.
