What's on my clove polyps?

I know it's hard to see but not sure what these tentacle like things are. The ends don't open up. There growing from the base.

Those long stringy things could be sponge. Hard to tell from the picture. I have seen purple sponge grow in long strands like that.
 
Those could also be part of the clove polyp colony. They look like remnants of clove polyp stalks (the polyp heads and associated tentacles have atrophied). The polyp heads are capable of regenerating if conditions permit. Normally, though, new clove polyps sprout with the heads and tentacles, so I may be wrong.

Is that a newly acquired frag?
