Magnesium deposits? Calcium deposits? How do I get them off my biowheel without damaging my bacteria? Can I just wipe.

When I used bio-wheels (stopped about 2 1/2 years ago) I would use a toothpick and scrape it off.

Just scrape it off with something like a toothpick, butter knife, or anything hard with an edge or point. It's just a combination of mineral deposits as well as other stuff in the water. Nothing that will harm the fish.

Alright that is good to know, cause I always get that on the edges of my tank or on my filters because I have well water here and there are ALOT of minerals in my water... no chlorine which is always a plus :)
