Over the last couple days something that looks like a thick coraline algae has been spreading on my live rock. It looks thick and kind of bumpy in spots and is a very bright white color. Any thoughts? Oh I also just picked up a white porcelain crab with red spots. Do I need to get anything special to feed him?

Nothing special to feed the crab. He will graze on your live rock, and will clean up any extra food that is not eaten by the fish when you feed them.

Could you get a picture of the white stuff growing on your rocks? That might help us better to identify what is actually growing on your rocks. Thick and lumpy white stuff makes me think sponges, but we can't tell for sure unless we have some pictures.
