I have started to see whole algae like stuff on my rocks, there is nothing in the aquarium but a blue damsel and live rock. This is only day 12.

Looks like daitoms. It is normal in a new tank. Its from silicats and possibly phosphates in the water. Are you useing RO water or tap water? Do you have a test kit? If so whats your readings?

I have been using tap water, but all the readings look to be good, amonia is at 0, nitrites are at 0 and salinity looks perf.

Do you have a phosphate test? Need to check your tap water for phosphates if they are in your tap it will cause the daitoms to be worse than normal and it will take longer to wear off. Also it sets you up for future algae battles. Might need to use RO water.
I personaly use my tap water presently it has Phosphates in it. I use a phosphate reactor to help keep them to a minimum. I am looking into getting an RO unit tho.
