Why is my filter hose white

Help me . I got this fx4 3 months ago it started getting white I’m not sure why . So I clean the white off but it comes back in a few weeks IMG_3357.jpg
 
What's it like when you clean it? Is it hard or soft? It could be a calcium or some other mineral build up.

Just talked to my fish guy he said it’s calcium nothing to worry about
