Is wild duckweed aquarium safe?

Personally, I'd run it through a serious course of anti-paracitic water treatment and a good bleaching in a 5% solution before introducing to my tanks.

I think I've seen that photo (or one just like it) on ebay...
 
I don't know about tanks, but I know it's safe for trash cans!
I don't recommend duckweed because it can quickly take over a tank and ruin the looks. It gets stuck in plants, filters, and decorations. Sometimes it clogs the filter. It also blocks a lot of light, so if you want to grow other plants you may have trouble.
 
When I had goldfish, duckweed was a great food supplement. I think rainbows eat it also.
