Hi all,

New to the reefing hobby.

I have had a pom pom xenia bought from LFS in my tank for about 2 weeks now. It has been doing great since I brought it home.

Yesterday I received a few coral frags from an online retailer and decided to dip them in SeaChem Reef Dip before placing them in my tank. I also decided to dip the Xenia at the same time.

I have placed all pieces in the tank and the new corals seems to be acclimating fine, but the xenia still seems shriveled up and its color is darker than normal.

Did I make a mistake by dipping the xenia? :banghead:

With the coral being in the system for 2 weeks, there most likely wasn't anything that a coral dip would be there to remove unless it was in the system already. Soft coral and polyps also don't always react very well to being dipped. I would expect it to return to normal at some point in the near future, they will do that until they pipe back up.
