Zebra danios and guppies

They can be in groups less than 5/6. They're extremely active and will also inhabit the same water column as guppys..
 
It could go either way. I've had some danios that were fine, but i've also had a lot of bullies that constantly chased and nipped at the other fish. Having guppys and danios in a 20 gallon probably isnt a good idea for the reason the poster above me stated. They will swim in the same area and could become crowded.
 
Danios are hit or miss enough that I'd choose either guppies or the danios, not both in that size tank. Danios really do best in tanks at least 30" long and in bigger groups (8+) so they have enough space and conspecific friends to wear themselves out chasing so they don't bother the other fish.
