Zoa: Dead or Alive?

as long as it has flesh it's alive now how healthy that's another thing
I would closely inspect for a Nudibranch the type that eat zoas blend in real good
you could also blow it off any debris that are the zoa could be irritating it
another thought move it to a different location see if that helps

I could try placing it on the sand. That's the only spot I have not yet tried.

I have looked at it well and there is nothing I can see. I have also "rinsed" it under the flow of my filter.

I will try the new spot. How long should I leave it in one spot to see if it likes that spot? A day? Two days?

Ok, new spot seems to be helping. This is the most it has opened since I got it! I had forgotten what color it was. Still no skirt, but almost!

Baby steps, but it is more open today! I can just see the edge of their skirts! Maybe this afternoon, or even tomorrow they will be fully open! Can you tell I am excited?

In my experience Zoas will open up and grow in nitrates as high as 80 or 160ppm so I highly doubt that was the issue...
Glad they're opening up!
