That sounds like the safe route. My lfs has the black sand at 16.99 a 20lb bag.
Im not saying not to use the blasting sand because i know people do but it just scares me.

Set it to your temp then it stays in there all the time only turning on when tank temp drops below set temp on the heater

Okay sweet. Thanks! So I decided to go with what fit the plastic hood. The aqueon 30 and ac 70 so 500gph aint bad. I wanted 2 ac 70s but we only had 1 left

Here it is up. No water until I get sand. Sorry about the mess. I cut some carpet up so it would sit even ( the wife didnt care?!?!) And now its perfect. oh and my dog doesn't like her reflection at all

Just tested tap water for ammo. Its at .50!?! Its soo high
