I am about to purchase a 6ft by 2f by 2ft aquarium. What is the best filter?

Eheim and Fluvals are widely regarded as being two of the best makes. I use an Eheim myself and it is great. But your tank is more than double the size of mine so not sure what model would be best. Generally speaking though you need to be looking at 4x the output of your tank size. So you would need 2400 litres per hour output but it depends on how well stocked your tank is too i.e. if its lightly stocked you can probably get away with a lower output.
