Advice on keeping Rams

Hi, Iím thinking about getting some German ram cichlids, Iíve heard that theyíre notoriously sensitive and hard to keep. Iíve been fish keeping for almost six years and have had a relatively wide variety of small to medium fish species under my care. I would love to have a fish thatíll give me a little bit of a challenge, but I donít want it to end in a frustrating, heartbreaking disaster. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to increase the success rate of keeping Rams?

Source from a local breeder that uses tap water. Give them their own, mature tank, water temp 82 with lots of natural plants and hidey spots
I'm not really here... fell in the tank and my phone is just that smart
