After a month of searching and a 7 hour drive I'm now a very proud owner of 4 w/c and 6 f1 Altolamprologus compressiceps Sumbu shell. Just got home and started acclimated so pictures are a bit washed out.

I didn't think it was crazy at all for me to make the drive. It would have costed the same to ship them that it took in gas. Now my wife thought I was nuts.

I'll never be converted!!!!! These are just rare which I'm all about. Like I told Andrew when he emailed me I haven't seen these guys on a list in about 2-3 years.

I guess the village of Sumbu is protected so there aren't any wild caught coming out of there. They have been found elsewhere though. These look like the normal comps and can easily be mixed up and sold wrong at a young age. That is actually a problem in the USA. I can't get over how little the females are.

There's also a dwarf shell dwelling Mbuna from Malawi that I wouldn't mind getting either.

I've had them about 5 months now with no luck on breeding them. I've been getting a lot of color changing and shaking over shells but the males usually just chase the female off. Feeling frustrated
