At what age/size to German Blue Rams begin mating.

At what age to these rams reach maturity and begin mating rituals? I have a pair that have begun chasing each other around a community tank. I was wondering if this could be mating behaviour but they seem a bit small to have reached maturity.

Are you sure you have a female and male? Because chasing sounds like 2 males one being more dominant than the other and wanting him out of his area or territory.

Mine paired up and they rarely ever chased each other. Only just a little nip or something like that. They were inseparable and still are. They almost never leave each other. Thats how I knew they paired
