beach sand

I am wondering can i use bought beach sand for a 44g Malawi tank.

yea. make sure its clean and no additives. a lot of people tend to use pool filter sand.

ah play sand..... with play sand tends to be lighter in weight plus needs to be cleaned a lot. with pool filter sand its heaver and doesnt need to be cleaned as much.

Pool filter sand is rounder like tiny pebbles... You are planning on using sand that's made up of flat grains, which tends to compact and needs to be stirred... But be careful about stirring, as it's also is a filter-destroyer if it gets into your impeller.

OK well were would i pick up this sand you all talk about for swimming pools I live in no were land ,northern Alberta all we have is Canadian tire and Walmart lol. Got to love military bases.
