Hi
Can someone please help me work out what sex my Blue Texas is?
I hear a lot of conflicting information on how to tell the difference.
Thanks

Herichthys carpintis females have a black blotch on the dorsal fin, this can be hard to see occasionally with their color pattern. That one is a male from that picture(can see the vent) , and a nice looking one at that!

This picture will show you what I mean, plus at that size venting is way easier to tell.

Thanks for that - I think he's beautiful too!
I was really hoping he was a boy - we have named him Tex and he is about 3 years old so would be kinda hard to think of him as a girl now!

He's about 7 inches I'd say
He's truly beautiful, doesn't match his personality though, he's full of hatred haha.
We have a love hate relationship. I love him, he hates me!
