Bumblebee Cichlid Color

I have had my bumblebee for two years (maybe more) now and when I first got him(or her?) he was really bright with lots of yellow. He has slowly faded and I just wanted to make sure this is ok. I have read that with age their colors can fade but there is very little yellow, even when he changes color with moods. Just tested the tank before posting and the levels are Ammonia: 0, PH; 8.0, Nitrite: 0, and Nitrate around 20 ppm. I remove all the rocks at the bottom of the tank every three weeks to vacuum properly but then weekly do a 25% water change. Are his colors normal or am I doing something wrong?

I have two, ones about a year old and looks just like yours does now and has most of his life while the other is about 8 months and has always had the bright yellow
