That's why I am so confused some people have said red devil then others have said differently so I kinda figured if I join here I may just get the answers I am looking for......

If you got it from a fish store, chances are it is a midevil, a midas and red devil crossbreed. Some look more like midas, while others look more like red devils. The only way to get a pure strain now is to buy from a breeder/importer.

Some red devils do have black coloration in them. Here is a wild one from Jeff Rapps

Thanks for the pics.. I saw a pic similar which was mainly what prompted me to question what I had been told by someone else that it was a red devil.. Hmmmm...
