My Oscar just swam really hard towards the side of the aquarium. I guess he thought he saw something. Well I dont know if he hit the tank or the heater but when I noticed him after he looks like he knocked off a big (pea size) chuck of his scales. And what looks like white flesh exposed now. I dont see any blood but I didn't know if this was possible for a fish to do this to its self. It doesn't look like ick or hole-n-head. And it just happened it wasn't there a few hours ago when I fed him. Any ideas what to do if anything?

My oscar gave himself wounds every once in a while, it should heal in a day or two if the tank water is good. If your tank is in bad condition it can become infected. Those pictures make the tank water look very foggy and not clean.
