Cichlid identification

I was going to wait until tomorrow to post pics of my cichlids for id but, I'm interested to know tonight These are out of the assorted cichlids tank at walmart. Got them 4 for $18. I tried to take pics but they are too lively so I took a vid.

I figure I'll need to rehome them so I'm prepared for that.

Anyone have any ideas about the blue ones?

You may not have to. I had big aggression issues when I went to the LFS assorted tank and ended up with frontosas and bumble bees etc... Fought all the time and scared everyone. And the fronts were just gonna get way big! Had to re home. I think with what you have you'll be ok.

Mine are only about a month old according to walmarts fish guy. Hopefully won't be fighting for a while.

Those are electric yellow labs and Kenyi. And they are older than a month old, lol, I'm shocked they would tell you that?!

Yes they are Kenyi and yellow labs. Keep an eye on the Kenyi, they can be very aggressive when the mature. As they mature, the males turn yellow and the females keep the look Rey have as a juvenile or turn a little more blue.

Good luck!

Thanks for the id!

My wife was watching some chick flick when I made the bid, hence the background noise.

The yellows are about 1.5in and the kenyi are about 1in. Any idea about how old they might be?

I don't know about how old, someone will though. But, I do know the Kenyi are still juveniles so you don't know yet if they are male or female.

I have one Kenyi and 5 labs in my tank, they are awesome fish!

How big is your tank? I am moving mine to a 20g long in about a week until they out grow it.

How old do Kenyi's have to be before they start to change color so you can tell the sex?
