Cichlid identification

The pet store told me he was an auratus cichlid but he's got weird colouring, like half male half female colours. He's about 3 inches so maybe he's not fully coloured yet? Or is he just a mutt?

Okay thanks, that's what I thought but my friend bought a fully coloured male and it's much smaller than mine.

Me too. It's hard for me to take a pic of only one of those fish because since I got them they've been like best buds, they're always side by side. It's kinda a weird match but they were my first cichlids I've ever bought and I got them as very small juvies. Lol cichlids are so weird.
