Hi! I was recently given a 30g tank and would like to get a couple of cichlids for the first time (I currently have a 75g and a planted 20g with assorted tropicals).

I am aware that a 30g tank is typically considered to be too small for cichlids, but I'm wondering if there is any way to pull it off. Could anyone suggest a couple species that won't get too big, play well in small groups, etc.? I don't have a preference yet for Africans or South Americans, open to anything!

Thanks a lot!

Reasearch fish like blue&bolivian ram's, kribsens, a apistos, or a pair of convicts, all will work in that size tank.
