Hi. I have a 46 gallon bowfront with peacock cichlids and was wondering if i should put a wave maker circulation pump in or if it would be too strong of a current for them. I currently have a fluval c4 hob filter.

3 foot tank right? If you get one make it a smaller one. African Cichlids like current and do well with it as long as you aren't blowing them all over the tank.

Ya that's turning your tank over about 15-16x an hour with media in your Fluval. You are at the high end but I'd go out on a limb and say it'll be fine for those type of fish. If you end up with to much current, point the wave maker towards the back of the tank to minimize the flow its putting out.
