Compatibilty Question

If you had a big enough tank (>100) could you mix severums and a frontosa, I have heard that you should not mix Africans and S. American Cichlid but I been reading how frontosa are slow and calm deep dwellers

its more a difference in parameter needs than temperment problems. Most African cichlids need a higher ph and hardness then S.A cichlids.

I wouldn't advise it. You could try but in the end you might end up loosing some nice fish. I'm sure they might be fine on aggressiveness and getting along but as Psyhampster stated the Africans would need a higher pH and if this was offered to them it could severely harm the South Americans.
