Crushed Coral Question

So I just scored on 50lbs of free crushed coral that was used in a salt water set up. What do I need to do to it to use in my freshwater Mbuna 60g tank that now has play sand? I plan on maybe going with a 50/50 mix or any other suggestions?

I used left over Live Sand in my Mbuna tank.

I just ran it through tap water and threw it in.

Any bacteria currently living on the CC would die instantly when introduced to Freshwater.
