The 3 males will be staying in the 30g. I can get another 6 females to keep in there with them if need be. Then 1m 2f in the 10g but that won't be until september

You might be okay in 30 but males can get nasty. They look good. Can't wait to see some color!

They are harder to tell than other rams. Males still have the dorsal spike but is often much smaller. Also females tend to have less blue on the top of their head.

Mine doesn't have much blue on its head. It has somewhat of a spike too. Here's a picture:



Looks more like a female from what your telling me. Either way he or she chases my male GBR sometimes.

She's the queen of the tank haha. My male GBR is really shy, which is sort of a good thing in my opinion.

Yea, ime blue ram are the most aggressive then golds then electrics so you've got a feisty girl

A female bully? Nice! My german male has established the pecking order and he makes it known with his flaring. Really beautiful.

I've heard a story of a female blue ram going nuts and killing every tank mate in a community tank

Hongsloi or diplotaenia. Barlowi are mouth brooders which is cool, but can be very difficult to breed.

Neither but honglosi would be the easiest IMO they are in the macmasteri complex with many "beginner" apistos

Apistogramma cacatuoides are great fish. You would be very happy with them
