Can you give more details about your tank. Whats in there currently? In particular water temperature.
Personally i think its better to plan the community around the dwarf cichlid than vice versa. Reason being, dwarf Cichlids like the water warmer then most community tanks are set up for. While their temperature range might overlap with your community fish, ive definitely had more success with them at a higher temperature than most tetras are good at for instance.
However, I understand bolivian rams are better at the cooler temperature community tanks are normally set up at. That may be a good option depending on what you are currently stocked with.
